Erişilebilirlik Sezgisi Temelinde Suç Korkusu: Risk Algısına Dayalı Kavramsal Bir Model

Özet

Bu çalışma, suç korkusunun oluşumunda erişilebilirlik sezgisinin rolünü kavramsal bir model çerçevesinde incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Literatürde suç korkusu çoğunlukla mağduriyet, savunmasızlık, sosyal düzensizlik ve çevresel faktörler üzerinden açıklanırken, bireylerin suç riskini nasıl değerlendirdiğini belirleyen bilişsel süreçler görece sınırlı biçimde ele alınmıştır. Bu doğrultuda çalışma, sistematik derleme iddiası taşımayan kuramsal ve kavramsal bir inceleme olarak tasarlanmıştır. Bir diğer ifadeyle, suç korkusu literatürü ile davranışsal karar verme literatürü birlikte değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın temel varsayımı, bireylerin suç riskini çoğu zaman nesnel suç oranlarından ziyade zihinlerinde kolayca canlandırabildikleri suç örnekleri üzerinden değerlendirdikleridir. Bu bağlamda medya maruziyeti, dramatik ve duygusal açıdan çarpıcı suç olayları ile sosyal yakınlık içeren dolaylı mağduriyet deneyimleri, suç olaylarının zihinsel erişilebilirliğini artıran temel unsurlar olarak ele alınmıştır. Önerilen modelde erişilebilirlik sezgisi, bu unsurlar ile artan risk algısı arasında işleyen merkezi bilişsel mekanizma olarak konumlandırılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, suç korkusunun yalnızca nesnel suç göstergeleriyle açıklanamayacağı; zihinsel erişilebilirlik, risk algısı ve dolaylı bilgi kaynaklarının da bu süreçte belirleyici olduğu ileri sürülmektedir.
